License Type and Support
Siena’s renewed contract with Zoom has been transitioned to Zoom Workplace for Education, beginning in February 2026.
This update introduces two license types:
- Enterprise Essentials: for faculty and staff
- Enhancements provide new tools and capabilities that support teaching, learning, research, and collaboration across our community.
- Enterprise Student: for current students
- Students do not need to take any actions; the account, login, how students schedule meetings, how students join meetings, and the day-to-day Zoom experience for students remain the same.
New Features for Enterprise Essentials:
- Larger meetings: Standard Zoom meetings can now host up to 500 participants, an increase from the previous 300-person limit.
- Zoom Webinar: Enterprise Essentials license owners now have access to Zoom Webinar for up to 500 attendees. Webinars are well suited for guest lectures, town halls, informational sessions, and presentations with large audiences and limited presenters. Previously, webinar hosting was limited. This capability is now broadly available, expanding opportunities for outreach and engagement.
Once a student graduates from Siena University as their email account changes to an alumni account, their Zoom license type changes to Zoom Basic.
