WeVideo
WeVideo is a very simple to use yet powerful video editor which can be used by teachers to help students learn the art of video editing. The idea behind WeVideo Classroom is to integrate all the tools into the editor itself so that teachers can set project assessments, monitor them, comment and ultimately mark them for student feedback.
Benefits
- For Instructors: The main benefits of WeVideo are its user-friendly interface that simplifies advanced video editing to enable both beginners and seasoned editors to create great videos effortlessly. Its straightforward layout provides complex and simple features to offer full creative control.
Best Practices
WeVideo features a Groups control section that allows the students in a class to collaborate on video creation projects. However, due to the limited number of licenses, WeVideo is used primarily as an advanced web-based video editing tool. Faculty interested in collaborative video creation project should reach out to Academic Technology for details.
License Type and Support
- Siena will discontinue the WeVideo licenses. On 9/16/2025, all licensed accounts will be converted to free basic accounts. Videos objects in your account will remain available. Basic accounts are subject to 90-day inactivity policy.
