Teaching Lab in July
Summer is a good time to lay back and recharge. Summer is also a good time to learn new skills. Academic Technology offers the Teaching Lab in July program to focus on three hot topics:

1. Web Accessibility: Preparing for DOJ compliance deadline (April 2026)
Description: Two 2-hour in-person sessions to prepare you for the ADA Title II Web Accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA).
- Web Accessibility Basics: Why it matters and a checklist
- Videos, Closed Captions: video creation strategies
- Documents: using the tools available to you in the software
- Canvas Pages, Images and Color: RCE
Time: July 9 and 10 (Wednesday and Thursday), 10-12
Location: SH 125
2. Canvas RCE for the Braves: advanced techniques to spice up your course
Description: Are you tired of the wall of texts in your Canvas courses? Come and learn the easy-to-apply techniques to unlock your creativity. Suitable for those who are comfortable with Canvas RCE and the basics of HTML coding.
Time: July 16 and 17 (Wednesday and Thursday), 9-12

3. GenAI Bootcamp
Description: Four 2-hour in-person hands-on sessions to cover the following GenAI topics:
- GenAI basics; prompting the GPT, and custom GPT
- Human vs. GenAI: Is your assignment AI-proof ?
- Writing Detection, Turnitin, and the Mosaic Approach
- GenAI and Assessment
- GenAI best practices
Time: July 21, 22, 23, & 24 (Monday~Thursday), 10-12
