What is CAIL-S?
CAIL-S is a new community of learners dedicated to exploring GenAI. CAIL-S welcomes everyone, regardless of skill level with GenAI. Our focus is on curiosity, collaboration, and learning together in a supportive environment.
Why Join?
- No Experience Required: Whether you’re familiar with ChatGPT or just starting to learn about GenAI, this is the place for you. We value diverse perspectives and believe they enrich our understanding.
- Flexible Format: We meet every other Friday for informal discussions (see below for the schedule). There are no lectures or strict agendas—just a space to share ideas, explore GenAI topics, and learn together. It’s a gathering of curious minds, not a classroom.
- Collaborative Learning: Bring a project you’re working on, discuss an AI-related article, or simply listen in. Our meetings are a space for sharing insights and growing together. We learn from each other’s questions and experiences.
- Connect Across Disciplines: GenAI spans many fields, and CAIL-S is an opportunity to meet colleagues from different departments. You’ll gain new perspectives and see how GenAI intersects with various disciplines.
When and Where?
We meet every other Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 pm at Hines 102, and Zoom. There’s no obligation to attend every session—just come when you can. Bring your lunch and curiosity, and let’s explore GenAI together!
Our first gathering will be on 9/13/2024, and here is the schedule for the rest of the Fall 2024 semester:
9/27, 10/11, 10/25, 11/8, 12/6 (12:45-1:45 pm);
11/21 (10:00-11:30 am, President’s Dining Room – next to Lonnstrom)
